Learning new things all the time...

I am currently taking a sewing class at the Cambridge Adult Education Center. While buying fabric and a pattern, I got the trusty pin cushion - the one my mom always had - the tomato and strawberry.

First, I didn't know the dangly thing was a strawberry. But more importantly, it's useful. Over time your pins become dull. The strawberry has emery in it, allowing you to sharpen your pins. Hmm, useful and classic.

There are many DIY instructions for it, but don't bother - they cost $1.00 - $1.50 max and come in smaller and larger sizes.
